I want to convince my mom to homeschool me?

I do not like school at all and I think I would study best if I was homeschooled. My mother works from 7 to 5 and she says that theres no way she could teach me, and that's true, but can't she just give me the assignments and stuff for me to do while she's at work?

thanks

  1. Would you consider an online school?

I hated my school too. There were wild parties, too many cliques, drugs, and useless teachers. So I research k12.com (virtual academies) and really liked it. I told my mom and asked her. She said yes and I'm in the middle of my enrollment process.

If you not, then tell her about your problems at school, and what homeschooling will do good for your future.

    Good Luck! =)

  2. im homeschooled, its great!

just sit down with her and tell her you HATE school

and im not gonna put words in your mouth but pretty much tell her you NEED to be homeschooled and btw my dad works the same hours, you can have a teacher, you can email and your pretty much doing work SOLO so no need for parents,

they just have to correct your work.

  3. yes..if you use an online charter school, you will not need a parent. They offer teacher assistance by phone and email if a problem comes up. If you use a k12 online school, the curriculum is very easy to follow. The schedule of work is there for you to go by daily. A parent to help you is not really needed.

  4. i actually want to do the same and think it is quite possible.. whereabouts do you live? i live in the uk. email me if you get to be homeschooled! =]

  5. Ok, im homeschooled and my mom woks all day also. If I were you, i would do a cyber school and that way your HOME schooling but just u have online teachers. I did that this past year (9th grade) but this upcoming year im doing regular homeschooling with the help of my church's co-op. see if there are any in ur area.

  6. Well if you do Virtual Academy your mom doesnt have to be home constantly.

She could just go over the work with you in the morning then when she gets home again forr what you couldn't get done.

Plus you will have actual teachers for all of your classes that you can ask questions whenever you have problems your mom would only be your learning coach.

Im already inrolled but i think they are still acepting applications.

    Just google it.

  7. Tell your mom that you need to be at home more often because school is bothering you!!

  8. There are several issues here:  Your mother is busy and earning a living and is probably tired at the beginning and the end of the day.  She must really WANT to agree to have you at home and studying (and her help will be needed a lot)

You are alone during the day, and she could not be there to make sure that you are not having parties and doing wrong stuff for those 10 hours that she is gone and you are unsupervised.  I promise you that 10 hours in your house alone is BORING.  You would have to be very disciplined to be using all that time wisely.  How many teens are THAT disciplined??  Not mine, anyway.  And I am a SAHM.

So, do not enroll (it can also be expensive or even VERY expensive) unless SHE is totally agreed.  Learning is hard however it is done.

    Bon chance.

  9. Don't give up-if this is something you really want. If you are in California-look into a charter school or Pacific Coast High School in Orange County, CA. A lot of moms work and homeschool their kids. You are old enough to work independently. show your mom how responsible you can be.

    Warm Regards,
