I live in central Indiana (but still in the country with a few acres of land)so I am thinking this will require some sort of combination of solar and wind power. There are so many other choices though I don't know which way to go or if it is even feasible in my location. Any ideas?

  1. you can fry potatos all day and use the grease as feul for your car.

  2. Solar is your best bet, but unless you're an electrical engineer, you will need a professional to install all of your panels that you need.

  3. The simplest bet would be hydroelectric, but I don't know what kind of water features you have on your land.  Something to think about also is using geothermal heat to heat your water.  Using wind power would be pretty good if you have steady high speed winds in your area.  Solar works as long as you have good sun exposure and are willing to install the panels.

You really need an electrical engineer or perhaps a land surveyor take a look at your property to tell you what is an option and what isn't.
