When typing a letter on yahoo main page it gives you suggestion from past searches. I need these to be removed. I have tried everything. I have been to tools-cleared & deleted everything possible. I have tried putting the cursor over the item so it highlights and hit delete on keyboard this doesn't work either. I need help with this ASAP.

Thanks

  1. As far as I know, all you can do is enable or disable the search assist function. There is no way to clear it (at least currently.)

When the "search assist" drops down, you will see in the upper right hand corner of the suggestion box, "Search assist: On | Off". Click on off to disable the "search suggestion".

Alternatively, you can click on the "more" link which give you a drop-down menu where you can disable the search assist.

    Hope this helps

  2. Have you tried turning off auto-complete?

Should be in internet options somewhere.

    Which browser are you using?

  3. You need to clear or disable Auto Complete. This saves all previous searches in your search bar. Here's how to fix the problem:

For Internet Explorer: Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom.
