Hey nice that u planning for an outing with ur partner. Well there are lotsa good places in chennai to eat out....u need to decide on certain points... one the expense and second the type of food... and third ur convinience of travel....and let me tell u in a city like chennai peace and slience comes expensive..

*If ur going for just an evening snack and a coffee... i would say CCD (cafe coffee day is the best).. peaceful and private...

tyr mocha is you want a fun filled evening.... its a happeneing place....Khader Nawaz Khan Rd, Nungambakkam.

Barista.... again a coffee place...just like CCD...cool and happeneing..

other favourites for snack as well as lunch / dinner

*Sarvana bhavan.... the one near Anna nagar is cool and quite...the roof top is excellent and romantic....:) for a nice dinner....it also has a small play corner for kids....

*Bhopathy cafe is good too.. for the amazing food...dunno the address well maybe u can search....

The Saravana Bhavan located in Panagal park is very good - both the food and the ambience.

I have heard that the Punjaabi dhaaba near Spencers is also good .. but i have not been there myself.
