And will Fantasy Football mess with my picks for pickem pools...I consistently win those. Just worried that rooting for good players on dog teams might make me want to pick the dog team to win. But it seems like fun, so where to start?

  1. There are actually TONS of NFL fantasy draft magazines out there as well as websites. Generally though, these sources just tell you the players that had the highest stats last year or the players that are projected to score a lot and have a lot of yards. Many times they'll actually have a mock draft and most of the time we'll list the top ten or so picks. basically .. just stick with a runningback/quarterback in the first couple of rounds because thats where your scoring is gonna come from.

LT and Adrian Peterson are no doubt gonna be the first two picks.

  2. Prolly on NFL.com it would help the most

  3. I just started too and I got a lot of inforrmation from ESPN player rankings and stat projections.

  4. You should go to www.fieldsoffantasy.com.  You can pick a new team every week on that site!

  5. There are many sites that will give you draft tips. In fact, whatever site you choose to play on (SPLN, ESPN, Yahoo) will most-likely offer draft tips and kits.

Just remember that good fantasy teams are built around good, consistant running backs. RBs that can run AND catch are espcially desireable.

Let me also caution you about the AP trap. Adrian Peterson will go 2nd in most leagues but he's not an espcially good choice because he gained 40% of his yards and scored half his TDs in 2 games last year. And he disappeared the last 4 weeks of the season when most leagues were in playoff mode.

Westbrook or Brady will be a better choice at #2.

  6. I probably do about ten to fifteen leagues a year, so I have experience. Th first thing to remember is dont draft every player from your favorite team. The second is to do research, and I mean hours and hours of research. Lindys has a pretty good football mag every year that will give you at least some guidelines. Nfl isnt the best place to look, but yahoo fantasy news is pretty good. If this really is your first year just remember to have fun.
