I want to do a charity run, quite soon?

If I can't do it soon, then I want to do it soon after my 2 week holiday in Tunisia.

I can run 10km on the tredmill in under an hour, reckon I could beat this though. Yeah 10km not impressive to many runners but it's impressive to the average male.

Would like to do some kind of charity run though, how do I go about this?

  1. There are a couple of ways to find runs to do,

You can pick a charity that yuo would like to support and visit their website. Most of the larger charities have realised that runners can raise lots of money for them and will support runners in certain events (the biggest I think is the Race For Life series where Cancer research runs the whole race). Look on the website of your chosen charity and there will be details there and how to enter the race - just follow the instructions or e-mail them. They often have guaranteed places at the larger runs (such as the Great North Run, Great Manchester run etc...)

The other way of running for a charity is to p***a run, then write to your favourite charity, say what you are doing and ask if you can runfor them - mostly they will say yes, also ask them for sponsor forms and information to give out. You can find rrace listings on sites like runnersworld, ukresults, runningdiary...

10k? Well it must be my favourite distance at the moment, dont get me wrong, a marathon is great however you can knock out a 10k once a month, marathons take too much out of you
