  1. Most programs to Germany do not require prior language study -- although it's definitely a help!

The issue is that most programs will also not allow you to pick a city -- only a country. So, if you apply for Germany -- you're liable to end up anywhere in the country! The exception is if you know someone in Hamburg that's willing to host you -- in which case it can be done as a direct placement.

You should look at AFS, Aspect, Rotary, and YFU -- all are reliable everywhere. ASSE is reliable in most places. AYUSA/INTRAX has problems and I don't recommend it. Our school won't accept their students for example.

Good luck! Germany is a great place and you'll have a great experience no matter where you land!

  2. Well if youre going to take courses during the summer then youre pretty good offf any ways. But I would Have to say go with ASSE international , you dont have to know the language (but it would help) ad they're really easy to get involved in they help you alot and you can get ahold of them easily. They have programs all over the world and there are minimal requirements. Also an extra perk they're a couple thousand cheaper thasn most competitiors and have even more benifits like they even pay for health insurance.

    hope it helps
