  1. Yes it depends on the age.  I am going to make a guess maybe elementary.  When I was a kid they always had this halloween haunted house at the community center.   They used the big boxes that appliances come in.  They connected them all together and made a little maze.  It was not big at all but when you are little everything seems big.  you had to crawl into it.  There were some turns that were dead ends.  There were flashing lights in some areas, spiders hanging down, cob webs, scary signs on the walls inside, fake rates, etc.    You decorate the inside as scary as you want it to be for the age of kids you are having.  On the outside openng they decorated it also with spider webs and a sign of some sort.  You would have to ask appliance stores for this.  They should give them to you free.  Or you could try moving places but you most likely would have to pay for those.

    Games:

Have a halloween themed pinata and fill with halloween type candy.

Orietral trading has a lot of fun cheap halloween games:

    Other games to play:

Mummy game:  Just have 2 teams, give each a roll of toilet paper and see which team can wrap a team member in the toilet paper until the roll runs out first.

Pass the pumpkin (a small gourd from the grocery store or any halloween item like a stuffed toy etc)  Have everyone sit in a circle.  Use a halloween pail or a plastic witches cauldron and put small halloween toys in inside (oriental trading).  Have an adult play some music and then stop it.  Whoever is left holding it will be out but gets to take a toy from the cauldron in the center.  Keep going until one person is left, the winner.  Have a bigger prize for the winner.

Halloween pong.  Use plastic halloween cups.  Line the up in a line in from the guests on a table.  Give everyone candy corn.  Have a timed race to see who can get the most into the cups.

Guessing game:  Have a halloween shaped clear container filled with candy corn or other halloween candy.  Have pcs of paper so they can guess how many are in there.  Whoever comes closest gets to keep it.

    Hope this helps.

    put lots of halloween decorations

    around the yard.

  3. An activity that would be fun for the kids would be decorating halloween themed sugar cookies! You could make the cookies up in advance and set up a decorating table with orange and black frosting, sprinkles, m&m's, chocolate chips, etc.

It would keep the kids occupied for about 20 minutes and they could put their cookies in their treat bag at the end of the party!

There are great halloween cookie cutters at www.cookiecutters.ecrater.com they have fun shapes like a bat, cat, pumpkin, frankenstein (sp?), witch, etc.

  4. Check out the articles describing two Halloween parties that one family has done over the years.. there are some great games and other Halloween ideas in there.. you could take ideas from both articles and combine them.  Good Luck..I'm sure you will find it helpful
