I want to do a major in molecular science but cant decide, help!

I am doing a chemistry major but I dont know wether I want to combine it with biochemistry or molecular genetics. I think biochem is more relavent. Anyway...help!

  1. It's probably easier transfer from biochemistry to genetics.

    For that reason (and that reason only - so if you think of a better reason, it trumps this one), I would suggest biochemistry (to start).

    Both are relevant and important, it depends on what you want.

    If you're talking about courses, then go genetics, it's more breadth overall.


  2. I suggest that you take chemistry and biochemistry and molecular genetics.  The biochemistry and genetics are so related that you would be doing yourself a disservice not to take both of them.

  3. Tough question.  As you said, biochem seems like it might be more pertinent to your interests, since you're a chemistry major.  Another option might be biophysics, if it's offered at your school.
