why do people not put socks and shoes on their babies!? they make baby shoes and they need to be wearing socks and shoes! ive seen so many questions on here about not putting shoes on your baby till they are good walkers or until 1, this seems crazy to me. what do you guys do with their little feet in the winter? do you really let your baby go out in public and walk around in public barefoot? yes it is EASIER to learn to walk barefoot, but they need to learn to walk in shoes to, since they will have to wear them the rest of their lives! and better to learn while not fully walking so they don't have to start all over with shoes? and how many of the kids, who didn't get their first pair of shoes till they were 1 or around that age, freaked out or hated wearing shoes? guess what my daughter had no problem and walked better then the kids that started before her, because she was used to being in shoes and they had NO idea what the h**l was on their feet!

ok so how many people waited till their kids were walking? how many people got their kids shoes from day one, weather it be booties or soft shoes? and if you could answer the other questions to, please. thanks i just don't understand it at all!

  1. I am a shoe person. I put shoes on my daughter when it started getting cold, but she was born in June so I didn't for a few months. She loves shoes now and wears them all the time. She started walking at 7 1/2 months and I tried to keep her shoes off in the house so she learned her balance better,  but I always put them on her when we left the house. Are you pregnant? You seem a little too worked up about it! :)

  2. I put tights on my girl last winter manly . she would pull her socks off. she still takes her shoes off now She was 6 to 8 months in the winter . Shoes were on her but they seemed would for show. she loves to be barefoot and walk now so if it is on the grass i let her go for it

  3. Why is this so important to you?

I'm not putting shoes on my baby that does not walk. Of course I won't let his feet freeze off. I've never seen someone so worked up about baby shoes.

  4. Well, wearing shoes actually screws up the development of the arch of the foot or something like that. They do make soft shoes to put on babies but you aren't supposed to leave those on for long periods of time either. In the winter and stuff they should at least wear footed pjs or somethin if its cold.

  5. I used to put shoes on my son but he always took them off again within seconds and tossed them away because he thought it was fun so now I've just stopped bothering to put them on. He always has socks on when we go out but you can guarantee he will take those of too and I will have to put them back on again before we get out of the car. Babies don't freak out about wearing shoes they just like to play with there toes and why shouldn't they. They don't need anything on there feet unless it's cold and they don't really need to wear shoes until they can walk and let's face it this is only so they don't hurt their feet.

  6. Stop whining. It's not really your problem is it.

  7. well I dont know why people wont put socks on the baby other than that they seem to kick them off alot...shoes on the other hand I see why you are reallly not suposed to put regular shoes on the baby until they start walking ...soft bottom shoes are okay to have on the baby because they are soft enough to work with the infants growing feet and are not much different than socks.....so until my son tries to walk on his own we are not going to buy regualer tennis shoes we will stick to soft bottom shoes, socks and booties

  8. Babies should be wearing socks/socks and slippers if they are out.  When they are learning to walk it is helpful to be in barefeet obviously weather permitting. It strengthens their feet.  We put them in shoes way to soon.

  9. I love your question.  I feel the same way when I see barefoot kids.  It's ok at home, but my son doesn't and hasn't ever left the house without something on his feet.  He had booties and socks on and then sandals and sneakers when he got older.

  10. i agree with all the people that said you are a little over worked about baby shoes..my daughter wore shoes when she was first born because they were cute!in the winter she wore slippers and socks or foot pajamas with socks depending on how cold it was and how long we were out side..and now she is almost a year she has not wore shoes because her doctor and all doctors will tell you they are not supposed to it messes up the development of their feet..i am buying her shoes today to wear every so often to get used to them and things..but i agree it is not your problem and you need to calm down..also i hope you ask your doctor about this shoe thing for the sake of your kids you are very misinformed about infants and shoes
