I'm not sure what you mean, like RFID? or do you want to track them geographically like GPS?

RFID is a growing field for many reasons, mostly security reasons but I posted a link below.

Sprint already has a GPS locator on many of their new phones so you can track where your friends and family are, but they allow you to block this service.
