  2. I think you need home school, regualr school, summer school and night school too. Youre not the brightest! hehehe, j/k Bri!

  3. No, you do not need your school districts permission to go to an online charter school. PDELA is a good one there but there are many options. I believe your best option there would be Penn. Virtual Charter School. No, you do not need a parent to teach you.

  4. Public cyber schools are not homeschooling - they are public school at home.  Because of that, all you have to do is transfer from your current public school to the cyber school.

Some cyber schools do have limits on enrollment and not everyone who enrolls makes it in.  In PA, though, you have many choices, so you should be able to find one.

Your parent will oversee your work but you'll have one or more public school teachers, and yourself, doing the majority of the teaching.  Talk to your parents about enrolling you in a cyber charter.  Attend some open house sessions with them to see which one would be the best fit for you and your family.

You don't need a reason to do it- just enroll in one.  The two schools I would recommend are PAVCS and Agora.  Both use the incredible K12 curriculum that I've used for over 5 years.  It's great!

  5. I know cyber school seems very appealing, but trust me it is a real bore. I did a cyber school for a year, I was always getting distracted, and had troubles getting tasks done. It is incredibly hard to sit a computer for 4 hours or more every day doing boring schoolwork. There is an incredible amount of reading involved, and little to no hands-on work. It is not the best learning environment. If you are interested in doing school at home there are lots of homeschooling communities in the US, and I'm sure there is one near you. You can order curriculum, and learn about things that actually interest you, without having to sit at a desk all day. One of my favorites parts of homeschooling was being able to take my schoolwork with me, to the park, in a tree, on the bus, wherever. It made it much more enjoyable, plus we did lots of hands-on stuff, and field trips.

You don't need a "reason" to do cyber school...it is usually considered a charter school, and usually just have to register with the state. But once again may I advise you to stay away from cyber schools, as they have very little to offer.
