  1. do your self a favor, and STOP WEARING THOSE POINTE SHOES!! if you have no ballet training, or just took it when you were little, that is horrible. you need a couple years of ballet (good training) to go en pointe. just because you can go on your toes does NOT mean that you are ready. just because you have strong feet does not mean that you are ready. if i were you, i would start getting very good training, and your ballet teacher needs to advise you when you should start pointe, what kind of pointe shoes to wear, and so on. honestly, almost every dancer (emphasis on dancer) has been taking at least one ballet class since they were little, and started pointe around age 10. you just need to be patient and wait :)

  2. sorry but u have to weight a couple of years and if you have never had lessons u shouldnt even own pointe shoes if u keep doing it u might end up needing painful expensive sugeries to fix ur feet not to be rude but ur being dumb

  3. I think what your doing is OK as long as your going to be taking lessons soon because you really have to make sure your ready...and before you put them on make sure your feet are warmed up and you do alot of pointing and flexing and stretching before you put them on.Ive been on point for 4 years and we still have at least 5 min of warm up time.

  4. okay sweetheart.....DON'T!!!!!! I know u want to and other people will probably tell you that its fine as long as you're safe, but being a trained pointe dancer, i've come to discover the fine technique it involves and if you have never had any formal training, you honestly could hurt yourself slowly and internally without any knowledge that you're doing it. ask yourself these particular questions: are you able to hold your balance?: or: can you move to another destination in them without coming off of the platform of the shoe?: or: do you sink into the box and feel the floor. (that's a dangerous thing to do)

girl, i give you props for going for it, but i strongly suggest that you take classes first. who knows, you could be en pointe in the matter of 2 years. it doesn't always take you your whole life to train for that. it took me only 2 years. pointe work isn't just having strong ankles. in all honesty, most pointe work is controled by your core strength and and your oblique muscles. the ankles are just what will get you on the platform. plus there is a technique to standing en pointe. you have to roll through and up and have completely straight knees while doing it....there is so much more hazard to what you are doing...if you want to talk some more about pointe, than you can contact me at this email address: dancerchik411@hotmail.com.

i'm looking out for those feet and ankles of yours. if you truly want to be a dancer en pointe, than you really should STOP what you are doing and start at the beginning. never try to run before you can walk.

  5. wait.

so youve never had a ballet class?

    Stop wearing the shoes!!!

you could hurt your feet and your ankles really badly.

You shouldnt actually take a pointe class right away

take a ballet class for a few years, THEN go enpointe.

  6. i'm really sorry to say this but no.

you need to take at least one year of ballet before pointe because even if you have really strong ankles, your feet aren't trained enough when you go up into releve.

you need the training to be able to do grande jetes and a la seconde turns on flats before your on pointe.

its best if you see a teacher and explain your situation because theres no point in lying and said you did ballet for along time cause she'll know if you have or haven't.

  7. I  hate to seem mean, but . . .

    This is horrible!!!

Being able to stand in pointe shoes has nothing to do with being any good.

I guarantee that your feet and ankles arn't as strong as you think!

I also guarantee that without lessons, your technique is horendous.

Get into class, and out of those shoes!

You should br in ballet class for a min. of 3 years before you go on pointe.

    You can't cheat in ballet!

  8. I have been doing ballet for two years and and still am not at that level. I wouldnt attempt it at all until my teacher said it was okay. If your not careful you can get really hurt. And just so you know it takes awhile to get to pointe you have to build alot of muscle in your legs(not just your ankles)  and there is alot of stuff to learn. if i were you i would get a beginners video that would teach u some of the stuff you need to know so that when you do start youll a have a bit of a head start sorry this is so long but good luck!
