  1. If you already have a degree, you can look at the Bachelor of Academic Laws or the B.G.L.(Bachelor of General Laws) programmes offered by Annamalai University or the BGL programme of Madurai Kamraj University in the Distance Education mode

If you re not a graduate, you can consider doing the Bachelor of Business Laws in the Distance Education mode

Please contact their nearest study centre in your area for more details.

ICFAI University also offers a BGL programme in the Distance Education mode for graduates.

But please note that these programs do not lead to registration with the Bar Council and you cannot practice in a court of law.

  2. I do not recommend correspondence school for a law degree. There is a good chance the degree would not be accepted by places where you want to work. Particularly, do not consider a correspondence school outside the country where you want to practice law. For example, don't go for a degree in India if you want to practice law in the United States. Indian Law and US Law are different.

There is a difference between correspondence school and distance learning from an accredited institution. Distance learning is usually set up as computerized classes offered online from serious universities. My alma mater now offers a large chunk of its masters program that way. You can take distance learning classes from the comfort of your own home.
