Question:

I want to do something other than long distance in track?

I ran xc freshman year with mid-distance following up in winter and spring track. I am unable to take the mental/physical beating of it for another full year so I want to do something else. My bones aren't able to take the beating of concrete on the frequent long runs. (too many stress fractures).

Any suggestions? I am 5'1. Former floor gymnast. I'm kind of built from gymnastics. I build muscle pretty easily for a girl.

I wanted to do pole vaulting but my headcoach said it'd be a lot tougher for me since I was short. And if I used a shorter pole, I wouldn't get as high.

  1. doing track is not as long as xc.

try doing mid distance which is the 400 and 800m

you should have the endurance to excel at both

  2. Try sprints, or try one of the field events. My friend is also very muscular, a xc runner, and she was surprised that she excelled so much in those events. Good luck!

  3. discus and if you have hammer throw
