I want to drive a semi truck! I'm 21 female with a 3 year old daughter.?

I love to drive, but I couldn't leave my little one. Would I be able to take her with me? I'm also kinda little, but I really love to drive. I've already taken my daughter to texas from Michigan and to Tennessee. We both love being "travelers" I'm also kinda little, but would I have to worry about being in danger with truckers? I know not all of them are scary, but does this sound realistic? If not, what are some other jobs that I could drive with my little one? Any?

There are some companies who will hire a 21 year old....I started when I was 21.  Werner, Covenant, Schneider and Swift are the ones I can think of offhand.  

However, finding a company that'll let you take a 3 year old is going to be more or less impossible.  It's due to insurance reasons.  Most kids have to be anywhere from 7-10 years old to ride along.  No reason why you couldn't seek a career in trucking when your daughter was old enough to ride along.  

There are people of all shapes & sizes out here on the road.....solo women are a minority but they are out here!  And overall, the industry is more & more accepting of women drivers as we become more common.  Safety for anyone out here is mostly about common sense & keeping a good head on your shoulders....not about how big or small you are.  Parking in well-lit places, walking with a purpose, dressing professionally, carrying a cell phone, keeping your doors locked, etc.  Common sense stuff.  Most truck drivers, male and female, are just normal, nice folks who'll help you out if you're in a jam and then chat with you over a cup of coffee.  

I don't know of other jobs where you could travel with your daughter....most places & their insurance co's simply think it's too risky to have a child that young traveling all over the place.  But again, in 5 to 7 years there's no reason why you couldn't become a truck driver and take her with you  :)....good luck!

yeah get a glock 17 and a carry a counseled weapon permit and check out bubba the love sponge on Sirius satellite radio and you'll be just fine

I really dont think any company will allow you to take your daughter with you plus most companies will not hire anyone under the age of 23 for insurance reasons sorry Other truckers will be fine with you dont be scared of them
