I want to dye my hair black?!Not sure if parents will...help!?!?

I have cool brown eyes and a cool skin tone so black should look really good. My hair is a couple inches past my shoulder. I want to grow it out long. Maybe another year and I will be happy. Anyway I want to do this because I love the color black and I've always wanted long black hair.... I know that that will make me look "goth" but that is perfectly fine because I am goth....The real sense of the word, witch can be found at www.goth.net .please real this site before you stereotype me...this is who I am, deal with it. and since you don't know me...don't assume. I hate that.

Okay back on topic...The problem is that I don't know if my mom will let me dye my hair black because she and dad don't know the true meaning of the goth that I am...They confuse it with emo and punk...I've tried to explain it to them but they never get it. My dad would say its okay but I'm not sure about mom. she was even reluctant to give my red streaks in my brown hair last year. As you all know it is now summer so the red would turn orange (eww) in all of the sun and chlorine...So during the summer I thought about how I really wanted black...Mom can even do it for me at home because she is a hairdresser and knows all about how to do it right and has all of the stuff we need but the black hair dye...I want it jet black, notblue-blackk like most people get. So if she says yes what is also a good but cheap dye to use that wont damage my hair too much...

I know its long....sorry, I like to write...well in this case, type...

Well, you could negotiate with her....good grades for black hair....stuff like that....chores for black hair...

You could go semi-permanent....

or you could just go a shade or two darker and see if mom likes it...if not you will not go black....

you could just buy some colored mousse or other goop and fake it.

I think goth is cool as long as you get good grade and remain a good person....it is only a phase and you will grow out of it....I did....why you say?  Because I didn't want to embarrass my kids....

Talk to your mom without whining....be adult about it...it will take some time and negotiating...but I'm sure it will happen...you have a cool mom who is a hair artist.

If that colour appeals to you, so be it.  For the respect of your parents, consult them, tell them you really desire to dye your hair, if they approve, so  be it, best of luck!!! suit yourself!!!!

Hon if you start looking "Goth" there IS a negative image that goes with it ,fair or not, like it or not.That is just how it is and we ARE judged by our appearances.

Think about it, your stranded someone after midnight in  one direction you see a guy in a police officers uniform,in the other direction some goth looking dude who looks like he fell face first in his dad's tackle box.

Now, who are you going to ask for help from...........no really?

After hanging out with goths for a while the attitude of the image they project slowly rubs off on you hon..If your parents are against it, then wait until your 18, you candye it any color you want.

It is best to buy an expensive dye, don't cheap out on your hair.
