  1. I used to be absolutely terrified of sharks.I realized it was mostly because they are so mysterious. If you watch television shows or documentaries on sharks, you start to understand them.after reading and watching a lot about sharks,I came to the conclusion that they are not enemies of us,and most attacks are simply the shark mistaking you for a seal. One key bit I noticed is that when there is a shark attack on a human,it lets go and swims away after a bite or two the majority of the time. You can always carry a small knife with you in the water, stab it in the eye and it will almost certainly let you go

  2. If that's Rocky Point R.I., there are brown sand sharks of 3-5' and have sandpaper for teeth they can not hurt you unless 500 attack at one time, NEVER HAPPEN, relax  99.9% of shark bites are accidental. Sharks on East & West coast are looking for seals, walrus etc, from under water on a surf board you may look like one but they usually hit lightly(not a kill hit), then realize it not what I want. You stand a better chance of winning the lottery 10 times in a row than getting hit by a shark.. Enjoy Narragansett Bay hasn't had a reported shark attack of any damage in a long, long time.

  3. I live on Long Island, there are sharks here, there are very few attacks in history at our beaches, there seems to be enough food out in the ocean for them, the largest great white shark in the world was caught between Block Island, and Long Island. I once saw a juvenile "Sand Tiger" caught in the bay, about 3' long, I asked if they are man eaters and somebody on the boat (Biologist) said "h**l YEA" ! they chase fish in the bay til about 3' then head out for deep ocean water but, it had a VERY IMPRESSIVE set of "CHOPPER'S, something that I did NOT want to put my hand near, we released the fish unharmed.
