I live in Florida now and want to finish up college here. I am an education major and was wondering if there was a way that I could get a teaching job in philly after i graduate. I also like how cheap the housing is there, and the Mutter Museum doesn't hurt either.

  1. I like New Jersey much better too.  I would chose NJ over Philadelphia.  There are some really crazy things that go on over there.  Good luck!

  2. Philadelphia is a good city to work in and live. Hey, it's better than Pittsburgh (job and moneywise too.)

  3. I was a Philadelphia resident for 25 years and I move to  Blackwood, New Jersey. I am sorry to say but maybe you should consider living outside of Philadelphia listed below are some areas for you to search.

    Springfield, PA

    Drexill Hill, PA

    Lansdowne,PA

    Upper Darby, PA

    Clifton Heights, PA

    Lower Merion, PA

    Bala Cynwd, PA

Overbrook Park ,PA ( Nice section in Philadelphia)

    Broomall, PA

I wish you all the best,  I will pray that where ever you go you dreams will become reality.

    God Bless!

  4. Philadelphia needs a ton of teachers right now.  The only problem is that you will likely be placed in a school in the ghetto.  I don't mean a little ghetto, I mean the worst of the worst.  Keep that in mind before applying.

There are many school districts outside the city that are much nicer and more pleasant to work in.

  5. We live in broomall, I would never move to Jersey I have cousins and friends over there, Im a strictly suburban philly girl.  I would never live in the city either.  You could even go out further west and look in Exton, Goshen, Downingtown, Coatesville, Brandywine, Lancaster county.  More people are moving further westward, and these places are growing.
