Should I do this before I leave or when I get there? Where do I do this and what is the service going to cost me?

  1. Yes there are place that take US dollars I know the north of Mexico does.

  2. i'm not sure that's necessary... i think most places will take us dollars in mexico. that's been my experience. you might also find it's easiest to use an atm machine, but be forewarned it's in pesos, so it can be hard to know how much you've actuallly withdrawn in us dollars. LOL

  3. U can always pay with Dollars here in Mexico but the exchange rate its gonna be up to the store or service u buy, if you want to check the daily rate got o www.banorte.com, theres a live exchange rate in that page.

In the North (Monterrey, Chihuahua, Sonora, Coahuila, Tamaulipas) and in the Beaches, there are a lot of Money Exchange stores, where u can change your money and it will not cost you any money since the commission is already in the exchange rate, you can go to a bank too, and they'll change it.

    have fun.

  4. You could do it at the airport, they'll tell you how much it's going to "cost" you, but there's different places to do it as well. If you're traveling with someone who speaks spanish it's easier to find out if you do it at a local exchanging poll, just be cautious on who you're telling what. Just a tip for unexperienced tourists including myself. By the way, the dollar there right now is around ($1 USD = 10.8 Mexican Pesos). Have fun!

  5. Change it at the airport.

  6. Not "everyplace in Mexico" accepts dollars...but in tourist places most do...however, if youpay in dollars, you pay more.BEST idea is to use your ATM card...get best rate that way.

  7. Everywhere in Mexico accepts dollars and all cities have  many "Casas de Cambio" [exchange rate clearly marked outside] which along with banks will change your money plus its much better to get pesos from an ATM card if you have a credit or debit card and your pin.
