I want to expand my hamsters cage and make it more interesting for him?

Right now, she has a pretty boring cage. A hut, a waterbottle, a wheel, and toilet paper roles.

And I want to make it bigger so I can add more things in it for her.

What do you think of this?

  1. If I was your hamster, I'd be pretty happy with that cage! :) With more space to walk, your hamster will be more entertained and active. To make it a little bit more interesting, try shopping for some hamster chew toys, balls, etc. You have a pretty interesting cage already, so put the previous things in there too.

    Good luck!

  2. I used to have this plastic like cage and you could buy additions to put on to it just look in any local pet store, and ask an employe to help you find a good cage!

  3. I really appreciate your idea of giving the best to your hamster. The cage is a huge one with lots of spaces for your little hamster.

But the cage does not look tunnel friendly in the sense that you cannot connect tunnels in a maze style for your hamster. And also your current cage will go to waste unless you plan on giving it away to someone.

Another idea would be if you have the option of connectivity to your current cage, why not make a bin cage and attach to the current one. You can go on adding a variety of bins to the current cage to make it more interesting for your hamster. It is easy to make and inexpensive and you would not feel the pinch if anytime you get bored with one set up and want to make a different style or arrangement. 4. Well, it is a nice cage, but I had my rats in one like it, and they made a very large mess. I think that it would be less of a problem with hamsters, because they tend to choose one corner to potty in, but, I would still think about the mess factor before you buy anything.

I hope that this will help you decide.

  5. You can give her some chew toys. or if its a critter trail cage or something like that you can attach tubes for her to crawl around.

  6. that is a great home, but for rats. if you are buying something for you hamster look at crittertrail and habitrail cages. they come with tubes and hideouts also they all have places to expand you little furry friends home, with extra tubes, wheels hideouts, outhouses, even another cage for more living space.

Hamster are natural tunnelers, when they used to live in the wild before humans took the last few out of the wild, they lived in underground tunnels.
