how should i write(or rewrite) this sentence

I'd better ___ her today

i want to express such meaning:

the sentence has the mean that i should yield/obey/give ground... her

but that's not the case that i'm afraid of her

instead, it's more like the relationship between a big bro and a little sister

maybe you guys should forget about the "i'd better"

because i don't want the feeling 【(absolutely avoid this feeling)】that is a weak person to a strong person

wat i want is the opposite

the person who says this, is a mysterious, skillful,proud,self-centered...person

anyway, nothing can change his mind unless he wants to (by pity, perhaps)

and the person who he's talking to is a 15-year-old girl who is menstruating today. And she wants to know one of his secret.

and the man is thinking whether to tell her

(i'm writing a novel as an english learner)

  1. Considering all things, I feel that it would be better for me to climb down to her this time.

  2. I think the phrase 'tread carefully with' would fit what you are aiming to express.

  3. How about "appease"?
