in projects they say jatropha seeds r available at rs 5 per kg as i require it huge quantitie i want o buy at cheaper rates if possible i want to know the supplier addresses local/foreign who can send jatropha seeds consistenly

Jatropha is cultivated largely in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts of Tamil Nadu, India.  You shall contact the agriculture office there.  They even guide you on extracting Bio Diesel and already there are into trial run on their vehicles.

Yes. You are right. In India, it is the rate offered currently for jatropha seeds, but whatever available quantity is used for producing saplings at present.  Even with big industrial houses viz.Reliance, ITC, the project is in trial stage only (i.e) cultivation, only in very limited area, as 'Pilot Project'.  Anyway, good volume may come to market around the year 2010.

And the bio-diesel may cost you around Rs.30/litre.
