  1. I started a begginers cause at my local rink for 45 english pounds, its not that expensive and it included free skate hire plus skating essentials!  If you cant EVEN afford that, then maybe ask your friend to teach you.  Go to the public ice sessions and ask some of the ice marshalls to help you.

    Good Luck! ^_^

  2. See if you can work at the ice rink in exchange for free skate time or start babysitting or mowing lawns etc. to make the money to afford it.

    Good luck!! : )

  3. Well i dont have that problem because my home club is unbelieveabley cheap. ($400 for the whole season). But maybe you could work at your club. Like my home club does a thing called Canskate, and its where you teach kids to skate and to qualify you have to be part of Skate Canada and over the age of 12, or part of Skate Canada and you have to of passed your junior bronze freeskate. And when i do canskate, i get $5 for every session i teach. And the money can only be used towards skating at my club, so every year i only pay $200, i save so much ! And some of my friends play the music for my skating club, which they say is boring, but hey.

and , if your a beginner, getting secondhand skates is best for 2 reasons.

    1)  breaking is skates is a killer and usually takes a lot of ice time to get use to

    2) cheaper !

    lol hope i helped

and it might just be me, but when i skate , i get SO FRUSTRATED and i feel like giving up and i when i do my solos and i cant do anything, i break down, and when i fail tests i get so mad, BUT DONT EVER GIVE UP.

its a beautiful sport and its worth it ;)

  4. Don't listen you are not poor I know it is hard and it costs a lot ask around see if someone can teach you and then try and get a job for the money. There is more to some people's life ice skating so it can pbe expensive for us clearly the person who called you poor is a bit up themselves

  5. dont go into private lessons right away because you are just starting. i think group lessons would be cheaper.

also, dont go and buy 300 dollar skates. maybe some coaches at your rink have used ones for less.

if you aren't old enough to work or dont have the transportation, then cut things out of your bills to make a surplus of money (and that surplus can be spent on things like skating) dont turn the lights on when you dont have to, dont use the car as often, buy the generic brand instead of the popular brand, spend less time in the shower, etc.

  6. Sell stuff, try and get a job, babysit etc... inquire about a job at the rink.

You could try and get your friend to teach you the basics and then once you have enough money you can pay for lessons

  7. ASK YOUR FRIEND TO TEACH YOU BUT DONT HAVE HER PAY FOR HE ICE TIME
