i just recently got a passion for figure skating

its what i daydream about while on the bus and stuff

but the most i would be able to get to the only rink in hawaii is 3 times. 30 min each time for lessons

maybe 1 if my parents dont let me take the bus

do you think this would be enough time to practice to be able to impress people in half a year. or a year maybe?

i would be very dedicated.

  1. Possibly, you can do anything if you set your mind to it. GOOD LUCK! :D

  2. 3 times what?

    a week, year, day ?

id say u need at least an hour a day cuz u have to practice what your coaches teach you.

Maybe it is possible if you have raw talent.

    I wish you luck (:

  3. If that's as much as they can get you there, just make sure to use your little bit of time wisely.  Pay close attention in your lessons, be sure to ask all your questions while you have the instructor's ear and when you have time to practice, maybe write down what you really need to work on and stick to your list.  If you have limited time, be sure not to spend time chattering with other skaters.  :)  I know -- we're all guilty of that one!!  haha

Even after your leave the rink, keep a notebook and write down everything you learned.  Keep a log of the tips the instructor gave you so you don't forget them when you go back.

Isn't it weird how the figure skating bug bites?  I've been skating for a looong time and I STILL day dream about skating.  I always think, "Ugg, if I could just get my body to do this, this jump/spin would be so much better," and on and on and on.

And always remember, you're skating for you.  :)  Don't worry about what everyone else thinks.  Practice hard and show your parents how much you appreciate the sacrifices they're making for you to skate and show them how much you love it.  If you practice hard, in a few months, I bet you'll be great at forward skating, be working on backward skating, have at least a two-foot spin, maybe even a one-foot spin.  :)  Good luck!
