I want to film myself playing tennis, between Panasonic, Sony, and JVC which brand do I want?

It doesn't need to be in HD. I've heard mixed reviews about all of the brands and I'm not sure which is the one I want. Thanks.

any miniDV camera is good for action sports. most other format types including HDV and DVD use Mpeg2 temporal compression and are not well suited to following action. you will also want a tripod, some very small cameras do not mount easily on a tripod.

You did not state your budget... I would drop JVC and add Canon. Do not even consider a DVD based camcorder regardless of the manufacturer.

So.. set a budget, first.
