I want to find flights to Mexico for under 300 dollars. Can you tell me where to look?

I would like to fly my wife and I to Guadalajara,Mexico in Sept., 2008. I have added my request to Travelocity but am looking for other ways of getting good deals. Can anyone help me out?

I can think of two possible options.

For the last two years, American Airlines has had a Mexico special running. I have flown from Las Vegas to Leon, Guanajuato twice for about $340 RT. Leon is a small airport a nd more expensive than Mexico City. I would imagine Guadalajara would be cheaper.

A cheaper option (but a bit more work) is something I did last summer. I flew to San Diego on southwest for $49 (from Vegas). I took the bus to town from the airport, took the trolley to the border and walked across to Tijuana. Directly in front of the gate are taxis. I went to the Tijuana airport where I got on my Volaris airlines flight to Leon for about $175 RT). It was a new Airbus A-300 plane and a fine flight.

I've heard that Volaris now runs a regular shuttle service from the San Diego airport directly to the TJ airport for an added fee.

It will search 10 different sites at the same time. Once you find a price that meets your budget and time frame, check the airline website, sometimes it's even cheaper.

I have done the other way way, from Mexico to USA.

The cheapest I found was with American Eagle (AA) to Dallas-Fortworth connection.

Another good option could be From Houston with Continental Airlines.

There are new flights with Mexicana to Chicago.

A very cheap company is Volaris, but the flights are from Tijuana, they have shuttle service from San Diego. The airplanes are news and have good service, I've used them.

Whatever you do, always keep in mind to AVOID Mexico City airport, you can go to wherever in Mexico coming from USA, that airport is TOO crowded.

Fly out of Mexico City and it will be less than $300 for the round trip. Where are you flying from?
