I want to find information about the 18th Century Gasworks that was built in Acorn Street, Kent - Where can I?

I know that there used to be a Gasworks built in Acorn Street, Sheerness, Kent, UK in the 18th Century. The houses that are opposite the old Gasworks site were built for the workmen. I would like to know more information about the Gasworks, and the houses that were built, as local history interests me. Does anybody know where I can find this information? Does anybody HAVE this information and is willing to share it with me?!

Try the Kent Archives Office.  If they don't have the info at hand at least they can tell you where to look for it.  You could also try your local library.
