I want to fly with my cat for 4 hours internationally. it has all its shots.?

will it cost extra? where will she stay? should i sedate it?

what will i do about her going to the bathroom? plz help!!! the airline i will fly is jetblue most likely or delta...

  1. It is expensive. The cat will fly in the pet section of the baggage part of the jet. She is too little to sedate. You will need an authorized pet carrier to keep her in. You can line it with absorbent material so that when she pees it will not be too messy. If she is going to and from a country that has rabies, then I think no special shots are needed. Check with your vet on that.


  2. Three things you need to check...

    1.  Contact the airline to check on their policies for pets.  If your cat is allowed onboard there will likely be an extra charge.  Also some airlines have a restriction on the number of animals that can be in the cabin at any one time.

    2.  I have yet to be aware of an airline that won't require you to keep your cat in its carrier for the entire trip, so you should be prepared for that.

    3.  If you are flying internationally you need to check the requirements for the country you are flying into as far as pets.  Shot records are a must, and each country has its own requirements.
