I want to get Sirius radio (espec. for the car) ...will it help me get LOCAL AM & FM too - like satellite TV?

I'd like to be able to get better reception for my local AM stations (since I enjoy the non-hard right wing talk shows)...

if sirius can't help...is there anything that can give me better reception in the car?

Any satellite radio will not help you get better receptions for the standard AM/FM stations. They come with a FM transmitter built in that "takes"over an empty station and transmit the signal on that station.  For better reception on your standard channels check with best buy or circuit city about a antenae amplifier.

no, not at all - its a totally seperate thing - not like satellite TV at all.
