I want to get a 49cc Vespa?

This would be for my son. I know nothing about Vespas or scooters other than any scooter over 49cc's, you need a Class E license to drive it.

Any advice on where to buy them (cheaply) and the pros and cons?

Thank you!

  1. There's not really such a thing as buying a cheap Vespa. Vespa's are a very expensive form of a scooter. I would purchase a honda metropolitan, yamaha: zuma, c3 or vino classic, or a chinese or taiwanese scooter, brands like Kymco or Roteka are not bad and offer good service later on. A Roketa 50cc scooter will run you under $1000. My girlfriend has one and it has been running strong now for almost a year with just oil changes.

  2. you can find dealerships here...

    http://www.vespausa.com/dealers/

and by clicking product on the right side you can see what they offers....

FYI Vespa is one of the most expensive scooter you can buy...they're not CHEAP at all....but you can try Ebay or Craigslist

if you want cheap you can get a HONDA RUCKUS 50cc for $2099 or a metropolitan for $1899...or Yamaha Vino 50cc etc

  3. How old is your son? If he is 16 I would recommend a 125 cc scooter. Yes Vespas ar expensive, they are quality. There are others that have as much bang for less buck. Get him a helmet.
