I want to get a Palm treo?

I want to buy a treo from verizon and I heard about the 45 dollar data charge but if I only want it for calling and texting do I need it?

Not necessarily, unless you want to have internet at a push of a button anytime.  Internet surfing is quite week on smart phones.  I would not suggest buying unless you have some time to kill at work and or school.  

To be honest it's a huge distraction and you'll get ticked off on loading time.  SO NO!
