  1. In the US, if you're setting out to become an MD you don't actually get a BS in Medicine.  There are a number of degrees that satisfy all of the biology, science, and other undergrad requirements for Medical School.  Generally the term 'pre-Med' is used to describe such an undergraduate program.  Then, one applies to Medical School as graduate study.

That said, there are some medical and related specialties that one can get at the BS level.

  2. In the US, unlike in some foreign countries, medicine - to become a doctor - is not available to undergraduates. You can not get a bachelor's degree in medicine. You must first get a bachelor's degree in another field, and then, for graduate school, you can apply to medical schools.

However, you can study medicine as an undergraduate in other countries. The UK is one example of a country that is well respected for its medical education, and which offers medicine at the undergraduate level.
