I want to get a bunny really badly, but the problem is that I live in North Dakota and my mom doesnt want it inside 24/7. We used to have some when we lived in the Southern area but now we have moved. I dont know what to do with it in the winter im trying to figure out some solutions. My mom said i can have one if its not in the house the whole time. I was thinking in the washroom but im not sure its warm enough. So we have a shelter outside our house thats almost like a little house will this be and ok place for the bunny? Its made out of metal, but i would like to build an area for it inside. Will the weather in North Dakota be to extreme to keep it in there? Any answers of what i can do to get a bunny and where to put it is needed. Thanks for your help!

  1. If you cannot have it inside full-time, I would suggest you not get a rabbit until you live in your own home or apartment.

EDITED:  Allow me to clarify.  It sounds as if your mother is not fully commited to the time, attention and money rabbits require.  When you are a minor, the pet is legally your parent's responsibility.  Unless you are self-supporting and can afford the costs associated with rabbits, as well as pay for the vet care, you should not get a rabbit.  Wait until you are an adult (like I am) and then decide if a rabbit is the right pet for you.

  2. Please don't get any pets if you cannot keep them inside.

    Rabbits suffer from it.

  3. don't listen to that guy above

right now, your mom doesn't want it inside all of the time, but your mom must not have experience with bunnies... you want them with you all the time, unless they have potty problems of course, but still, your mom will change her mind, so go ahead and get one!! if you need help picking a bunny, my AIM is k3tk3tk3t

i've had like 4, and they're worth it, all you really have to do is clean their cage and teach them a few things.

    don't worry about your mom

  4. UMM sure make sure there is light mabey even a fan incase it gets to hot make sure you get a cage maybe a bunny condo thats bigg so it has room to run around look at PETFINDER.COM and you can look at bunnys there and the good thing is that you can find one around were u live =]

  5. I wouldn't keep a bunnie outside in a cold area, especially if its by itself. Rabbits are known not to feed and drink properly in cold conditions.
