yes it would, but you will have to put fuel stabilizer in the gas tank to keep the gas fresh. You should also start it once in awhile.

Im in the same situation as you but im 16, I have quite a large knowlege on cars but everything i know iv'e taught myself,

Cars expensive to work on for your age, and there a big job, you have to have space and tools and a lot of free time, it would be big help if you had somebody a bit older to help you out? your dad or mums bf??

things can go not so much to plan so you need to know a fair bit about cars to get started, but im guessing that you really like cars otherwise you wouldnt bother doing it, (and if you have interest you can easily learn)

A commodore is a good start because there is lots of information and help avalible for them, but if your fixing it to sell theres not a lot of money in selling it, but good practice,

The car will be fine sitting there but if its not going to be started drain the fuel, but thats not necessary as long as you start it up every other weekend,
