I want to get a good TV but I can't spend too much on it. What do you recommend?

Vizio is your best bet for a low-priced LCD HDTV.  They are the best company around for the bargain shopper.  Check CNET.com if you want more specific information.

I got a INSIGNIA its 32in. HD 1080 at best buy and it was only around 700 bucks and my friend got a tv smaller then mine for almost 1,000 at wal-mart he got ripped

You should be able to purchase a nice t.v. with that kind of $.

Otherwise, check a pawn shop....sometimes you can find really good quality items there.

I was really worried about buying an off brand TV, but I have been really happy with a Vizio.  You can buy at Sams or Wal Mart for a good price.  I am really impressed with the HD

well you dont always want to go with a cheap 1080p tv but after long research there is one you can get that is good. I am going to get it in a couple of months. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...

Well you can do what i did and get the coupons from the government and get the tv converter boxes, the image looks great never looks wrong. the total for two will be at least $20 + tax, you wont really need an hd tv but just a basic tv.

As long as it's a name brand (Sony,Samsung,Sharp,Toshiba,Mitsubishi,L... you'll be happy.

DO NOT get a Insignia, Olevia, Westinghouse, Vizio, or Polaroid!!! Not worth wasting all that money on)

Also check out the New Sony KDL-40V4100.... this one has 1080p. Sony lists it at around 1400 but you can get it cheaper by searching around online (pricegrabber.com, etc)
