Is a short hair or long hair more problematic? What diseases can they have and will they pass anything to a bird or fish tank.

I want to get all three.. a bird, a guinea pig and a salt water fish tank.

Because, if I get kitty or doggy I'm not home allot and they require more attention and need to be let out. So, this way I want to get 3 pets that I never had the chance to owning while growing up but I would like to get soon. Are pet stores a bad place to go and where else should I look for guinea pigs or birds that are privately bred? Are these more money then the pet store?

  1. Guinea pigs need to live in pairs - especially if you're not going to be home all day it really is a good idea to have them in a pair.

They don't get ill very often - they can get lice through hay etc but really not much bad stuff happens to them.

They need a constant supply of hay, plus their dry food daily and they also need vegetables daily because they can't produce their own vitamin C.

They're not that expensive really but veggies can end up costing quite  bit - I would say allow for £10 a week really, they're not much more than that.

I suggest you visit www.guinealynx.info - it's a great website with lots of information! :)

www.guineapigcages.com has lots of info about cage sizes etc aswell

  2. Read over http://guineapigcages.com and http://guinealynx.info

    And adopt, don't buy http://www.petfinder.com

  3. take a short hair becayse it is easy to maintain. long hair has to be brushed and cut and bla bla bal

they cant transfer any diseases that i know of. becayse i have one guinea pig 4 parakeets 2 cockateils :)

and they all doing just fine.

i do spend money on veggies every week and i also like givingher fresh timothy hay.

mine guinea dont have a problem being alone. she is litter trained so she almost never in the cage just as well as my birds.

if you think of getting a bird get two cause they are flock animals and they need a friend more than a guinea pig.

u can get a guinea from the pet store :) they are about 35 dollars and cages are from 40 to up .

the way u can have a guinea pig litter trained just put her cage on the floor and open it for her to go in and out when she feels like it,

Good luck and keep me posted u will see you will have a lot of fun with all of your pets:) i guarantee. and guinea pigs can be spoiled too. every time i approachmine she lifts her head so i can pet her under her chin. hahahaha

  4. guinea pigs arent to bad to take care of. they need a container, cage, or fishtank aquarium, water food, pine bedding and love. they usually cost bout5-15 dols.   Birds can be a little more expensive and they usually live alot longer than a g pig. they can be anywhere from 15- thousands of dollars literally.dont know much about their care cuz ive not had one but i do know the prices. Salt water tank will probably cost you the most money. They are tough to get goin and although the fish are more glamorous, they are ALOT more exopensive. I would go with thefreshwater fish. You can find all kinds of pretty fish that are not as expensive, especially for a beginner. Good luck and hope this helped
