I want to get a job...how old do you think i have to be?

i'm only 15 so it's not like i wanna get a job at hollister or something...we live near some fast food places like Whataburger and Chick-fil-a...but chick fil a isn't hiring right now and i wanna get a job at whataburger because i know some people that work there and they have said the pay was good...i live in texas if that makes a difference...lol

so do you think they would hire me? oh! plus i'm homeschooled so i could work more hours! please help!

I dont see why you couldnt it would most likely be a good experience for you. you may need to get a work permit signed from your parents depending on what your states laws are but the employer would let you know if they needed this. good luck and have fun!

Does not matter that yuo are home schooled.  Laws prohibit the hours you can work, and the times you can work.  Most fast food will not hire at all until 16.  Because the restriction for the amount of time and the hours are a lot harder on anyone below the age of 16.  But It does not hurt to go there and talk to the manager.

most places in Texas cant hire at 15 usually grocery stores can, fast food usually wont because of the hour restrictions. They usually start hiring at 16.

According to federal law you are old enough to work.  The only way to know if they would hire you is to get an application and turn it in.

I realize it's only fast food but a tip of advice, even when you go in to get an application make sure you look nice.  I'm not saying to wear a dress but try to wear nice pants and a nice top instead of jeans and t-shirt.  It will make you look like you will really want the job and improve your chances of getting hired.

You may be able to get a job there. Fill out an application. Or maybe check with supermarkets in your area or coffee shops or local convienence stores. Paper route, dog walking, pet sitting, yard clean ups ets.

some places have a minimum age of 16...all depends on there policy.

Child Labor Laws will apply but you can get a job.

Ask to speak to the Manager at the Whataburger, explain your goals and he will fix you up as his current needs permit. If nothing at this time still put in application get interviewed and you will be well positioned for when an opening does come up. Same with Chick-fil-a.

it depends on the resurant, the state, and the laws. just becasuse you are homeschooled usually doesent mean very much, i also beleave that there is a maximum amount of hours that you are alowed to work. if you fill out an aplication and get the job then you can state that you are homeschooled and see if that makes any difference. if the place that you want to work doesent hire you than keep looking for somewhere that you want to work, but only work where you are happy and the working conditions are not distgusting.

In most states the minimum age is fifteen and a half. I´m not sure what the rule is for Texas. Otherwise, just assume 16.

If you´re homeschooled, and a good worker, it´s very probable they will hire you. It is to their advantage if you can work the hours that most kids your age cannot work.

I think food places, you have to be 16, I'm not positive though and not from Texas. I also don't think you can work more hours just because you are homeschooled, that law applies to everyone under the age of 18, not just those in school.
