I have had anoles in the past already and would like to try something different.

I have a 30 gallon tank. Unfortunatly I don't have the space or money for anything too much bigger.

Would a lizard or frog be better? Also, what types? I really want a leopard gecko but I'm not sure if it would do okay in a 30 gallon tank. ?? Thanks

  1. A leopard gecko would do fine in a 30 gallon and they're fairly easy keepers.

  2. lepord gecko would be completely fine

i had a green gecko, it was a great pet.

i also have a bearded dragon

they get semi big. id suggest this if you dont end up with the gecko.

its also a desert creature but is easier to take care of

but they are nice and gental. atleast mine is.

i dont think that would be such a bad idea actually for the space you have. they dont really climb.

    i have a chameleon too..

too hard for up keep. very sensitive.

wouldnt suggest that. and they climp high..so the tank wouldnt be good for that

    chinese waterdragons are pretty,

but they need a little more work.

    and large water areas.

id suggest a leopard gecko or a green gecko  if you want something that you can hold,  and doesnt need a huge tank

they eat crickets (but so do all that i mentioned above)

poison dart frogs are badass and really cool, but they take alot of work. other frogs are kinda boring/

  3. i would definitely say a tortoise. But otherwise bearded dragons R nice

  4. I have owned a few lizards and two turtles, and they were all great pets. I would say, if you are looking for a low maintenance pet, go with a Lizard. Leopard Geckos and Bearded Dragons are some cool lizards with relatively long lifespans. I have a Leopard Gecko and it is very happy in its 30 gallon tank.

If you are willing to clean out an aquarium ever few months, an aquatic turtle such as a Red Eared Slider would also make a great pet. I'm not sure if a 30 gallon tank would be big enough, however, because they grow to be quite large and they enjoy swimming around.

I don't have much experience with frogs, and I doubt I would ever get one. They might be kinda cute, but they are also kinda boring.

-If you want a low-maintenance, energetic and fun pet, I would go with a Leopard Gecko or a Bearded Dragon.

-If you want a beautiful and graceful pet that lives for a long, long time go with a Turtle.

-If you want a frog, heck. Buy a frog!

  5. A leopard gecko, or even two leopard geckos. However, if you get 2, get 2 females. They are female if, at 1 year of age, they have no little dots between their back legs. Males wil fight, and M&F will breed. Hope this helps!

  6. Funny I used to have anoles in a 30gallon a long time ago and recently bought an adult leopard gecko. He is fine in a 30 gallon. Leopards can live in a 20 gallon fine but larger is always better so a 30 is fine. Leopards are solitary so one is fine. You could keep two but make sure they are not both male as they will fight. Leopards are pretty easy to care for too. All you need is a under tank heater and a basking light for heat. They don't need the UVA/ UVB because they are nocturnal.

Frogs would also be fine in a 30 gallon.
