I want to get a mole removed?

im going to the doctor this week for an exam. but i was wondering, do regular GP's remove moles, or would i have to go to a dermatologist to get them removed?

A regular GP can remove the mole if it above the skin and simple , but most GP send them off to a dermatologist to have it removed, just because that is what a dermatologist do all day long vs. a GP who mostly deal with over all health in general... But keep in mind if it is for cosmetic reason or you just wanted off, some dermatologist  will let you know that ins. normally do not cover those and you would have to pay out of pocket...
