  1. Most projectors do not have a coaxial input for cable. You will need to get a device to convert the cable to composite and give you a way to tune (change the channel) if this is the case. There are a few devices that do this. 1: VCR 2: TV tuner box (usually provided by cable companies) 3: Get a TV converter box ($50 at walmart). The government is currently offering a $40 coupon for this devices because of air signals switching from analog to digital in february. Coupon here: https://www.dtv2009.gov/

You would route your video sources to the projector and your audio sources to your home theatre system in most cases. Some theatre systems offer a built in video switcher(if you see RCA connectors that are yellow, green or blue) in which case your video would go there first and then to the projector.

Keep in mind that it may take some getting use to (if the previous example is not the case). You will now have to switch sources twice everytime you want to switch between the devices. Switching audio sources on your sound system and switching video sources on your projector. Your tradition television would usually do both when you select a source. If you are trying to save on some cabling by only running on set of cabling to your projector, you can get another device for switching the signals and then sending the signal to your projector. This is about $15-$20 at walmart. (as opposed to running one set of RCA cable for every source)

    Good luck :-)
