  1. well, I have two Cockatiels and they are awesome! Yes, it can be expensive, but they are smart little birds LOL One is named Moss and one is named Brady. They love to sing, but they bite. So they don't like to be handled. But not all Cockatiels are mean and aggressive. Here's some birds that I would recommend with info about the bird:

Parakeet-not very expensive- a bird about the size of half your hand, not very expensive to take care of. Very beautiful bird. Lots of color variations. Can learn how to talk, and is friendly if you train it right. Not very messy, but can make a mess with its seeds/water and they p**p a lot lol but not bad. here's a link to a picture of a blue parakeet(also known as a  Budgerigar) Playful and curious. Like to be handled if trained well. CAN BE LEFT HOME AS LONG AS YOU HAVE ANOTHER PARAKEET IN THE CAGE SO HE WON'T GET LONELY!

Cockatiel-to buy one is more expensive. a bird about the size of your whole hand. comes in different color variations. We own the normal gray Cockatiel. There are many different types of Cockatiels. CAN BE LEFT HOME AS LONG AS YOU HAVE ANOTHER COCKATIEL IN THE CAGE SO HE WON'T GET LONELY! and here's a link to a website that shows the different types of Cockatiels. There are a lot aren't there? LOL =D

Macaws: Macaws are pretty expensive, sometimes costing up to $1,000! But some cost less. This bird is big, and beautiful. It can talk very clearly if it is taught to, and comes in many color variations. The Scarlet Macaw is red with yellow, blue and sometimes green. The Macaw can bite hard, so be sure to train it well at a young age! They require lots of attention, and much more costly supplies, like a really big cage, which can cost a lot. Below are several links that have info and pictures of Macaws:

  2. I had a sun conure, he was great good talker and very affectionate, but he was noisy. I have a quaker parrot now, very nice not as noisy. Both are good birds easy to care for.

  3. get  a lovebird they are great pets

  4. Um, well...you should REALLy consider how owning a parrot will affect your life.  They require a lot of attention.  They are loud.  They are messy.  Birds belong outdoors, free of cages.  If you feed them fresh foods, like your supposed to, it can be expensive.  Oh, and the vet bills.  Be ready to pay, pay, pay!  Ordinary household items are toxic to most parrots.  Teflon coated pans, candles, avovados, aersols, fabric softeners, room deodorizers.  Please THINK about all of this!!!

  5. I have a maroon-bellied conure who is so much fun. Conures are know for being loveable, playful, and being clowns. I take my conure in the car, walk around, and she enjoys a variety of people food.

  6. Hello.

Parrotlets are the nice choice , because they are not as noisy, as messy as bigger birds . Get a hand fed one so you can bond with it . If you don't know any breeders near you , go to www.hoobly.com and find one near you to buy it . TM.

  7. Get a quaker parrot! We have one named pickle and he is to die for ,, he talks better then a macaw and loves to be loved.

  8. There are many choices. Even a couple more than you have mentioned here.

If you are looking for something quite do not get a sun conure! I have one and he is one loud bugger!!

A love bird or parrotlet are good choices! Whichever one you chose try to get it as young as possibly can. Also with these, I would try looking into getting one from a breeder as apposed to a pet store. They do not usually get handled as they should at pet stores being that they are so small This can affect how tame they are.

There is also a green cheek conure -  are very quite birds.

Love birds and parrotlets are birds that connect to one main individual or one other bird. So, if you want the bird to connect mainly to you do not get two of them!

Depending on where you get the bird from, and how often if at all it is handled, it may take it a bit to get used to you and its new surroundings. Just keep at it and be patient!!!!

Also, their is a saying, "You do not chose the bird, the bird choses you" Let's say you have a few choices. You like one bird, but this other bird is taking to you a bit better. Chose the one thats taking to you! Birds have a sense of knowing whether or not you will mix well with them!!

Best of luck. Birds are really wonderful!
