  1. If you think it looks good then you should not worry about what others...ahem ^^^.... think.

It sounds like a nice idea, especially since its for our father. I would say to go ahead and get it there or for a something different and less painful somewhere like this

it looks nice, good placement and also you can straight line it.

  2. just a line of text on your rib cage?

um i guess it will be okay. i just wonder if 1 random line of text might look out of place. would you maybe want to add arms and a heart like a claddagh ring?

to symbolize him holding on to you and your love for him?

as it is i think it might fit better on the back of your shoulder, btwn your shoulder blades, on your hip curve or maybe around your ankle or on your foot.

  3. i like the idea and the words but it depends on where exactly on your ribs your getting it and how big. if its small smack bang in the middle it could look a bit odd but if you could put a picture up of what t might look like it will give you and others a better idea of the final design. :)

  4. I think that your idea is a beautiful one. I think that what will make this an incredibly beautiful tattoo, is the choices you make in script, if you add images, and the artist that you use.

You could add an angel image:

or, you could have angel wings on each side of the quote:

or have the wings on the top of the quote:

    http://www.robodesign.ro/files/wips/the-...

or just the beautiful quote, but in beautiful script:

    like Burgues:

or if that is too elaborate:

check out 'Italic Hand' script at this site:

You could also add 'atmosphere' in a light blue around your quote, and whatever else you choose.

As far as placement, and the pain, .. well, put the tattoo where you 'feel' that it is right and belongs, and everything will be worth it.

Pick your image/script etc. and let your artist help you with size, and placement, and artistic elements.

Good luck, it will be beautiful no matter what you choose.
