I want to get an ATV that is not fueled on gas or diesel. Any suggestions???

Do you know of any brands i could use?

Or anything that would convert a gas engine into a fuel efficient engine.

Im looking fo something that would run on something such as vegitable oil or something similar. Links would be highly appreciated. I wont get an ATV any other way. THANK YOU FOR THE HElP!

my dad is a certified mechanic and works on cars, computers, bikes, scooters, atvs, go carts, anything and he said it is possible if you strip the whole thing and put and electric motor in it. Also, try using ethanol gas in a gasoline ATV.

Get a mountain bike.  Good exercise, no pollution, less expensive.

You could probably convert a regular, gasoline powered atv to run on propane, just like the forklifts at the plant where I work.  A few people have converted cars to run on propane and the conversion should be similar.  Your atv would have all of the performance that any other similar atv would and it would be very much cleaner than gasoline.  Propane is fairly inexpensive, widely available, and it would run for hours on a tank full of fuel.  You wouldn't want the battery on an electric atv to run out in the middle of nowhere.  Diesel conversion would be difficult and expensive.  Propane would be the cheapest and cleanest alternative.

Diesel would be my choice.  They can run on veg table oil, and they are very quiet, with more power. You get more bang for the buck with diesel.  Diesel in California is not sold new, but Mercedes Benz sells diesel with 7500mi (legal) right now.  Diesel new will become legal in California in 2008. I know that BMW will import a diesel sedan in 2008, and so will Audi.

There are 2 alternatives~~ "mountain" bikes and hiking boots.  The boots fit on shank's mare (that's yo feet, fo'').

Why do u want to change??? is it that u think we will run out of oil?? Mother nature has an automatic recycle system to recycle our fossil fuels so we will never run out of fossil fuel.

If everyone went electric, How much fuel would we burn to supply the power. Get a small sailboat and put some wheels on it.

I don't know of any ATV's with alternative power.  The only thing I can think of is something like a golf cart electric motor.
