  1. the main thing should be to have fun. don't worry about it too much. however, if you want to become more advanced, consider taking group lessons (or private lessons, though if you're not very advanced already group lessons are cheaper and still a good idea).

    also practice, practice, practice.

good luck and have fun skating!

  2. Taking lessons and lots of practice. It will take time to become good at skating, but if you set your mind to it you can do it.

  3. Practice, Practice, Practice!

And If you really desire to improve, join a rink's Learn To Skate program where you have group lessons.

If you can afford it and really want it, then private lessons are for you.

  4. I would skate with a friend to be honest my friend only ice skated for his first time today now he don't hold onto the sides.

What i do is push one foot lift the other and push that one its easy.

Also falling over is part of ice skating so just laugh it off.

This link helped me and is very useful.

  5. It takes years of practice and dedication.  Have you thought of enrolling in group lessons at your local rink to start you off, before you begin one to one lessons.  It's an expensive sport, but the only way to improve is practice, watch and listen, and lessons.

  6. Check with your local rink and join their group lessons program.  Even if you only want to learn the basics and improve upon those, group lessons will get you through forward skating, backward skating and stopping.  Group lessons are usually cheaper than finding a private coach.  If you want to get more advanced, you can continue on in the lessons.  The basics are the basics, no matter which ice sport you're interested in (speed, hockey, figure).

  7. Practice at every opportunity you get. If you want, sign up for Group Lessons, some skating Arenas even have classes for older kids. If you know a figure skater, go skating with them, they can really teach you a lot. Remember to keep your arms out, and go at a comfortable speed, before you know it, you will be geting better day by day!!!!!!!!!!

  8. It takes so much longer than just a couple of times to become a better skater for one. If you really wanna skate, join group lessons at your local rink and continue to skate at public skates to just help you get more practice time in. See if you can make friends who can help you. If you but your hands out flat like they're on a table, it helps you with your balance.

  9. Just keep trying and relax and enjoy it .It will all come together in the end.

  10. hire someone to teach you and practise ore if you can't get to a ice rink sometimes then rollerskating is a similar technique to practise with until you can make it to a ice rink
