  1. People gave you some pretty good answers. Here is my idea with the whole invisalign/braces argument.

With invisalign, yes, it is less noticeable, but your teeth will be shifting, and as a human, if you can stop pain, you will, so you might decide to take out your retainer for just an hour when it starts to hurt, and over time, the process of getting straight teeth will take longer because you have delayed the process be removing the retainer.

Braces work quicker and are easier. Plain and simple.

Both of them will cause discomfort, but it is necessary because your teeth have to move some way!

Braces are definitely the way to go.

  2. i cant tell you anything abotu invisilign but braces i can. When you go to get them you will feel pressure and it takes about 2 hours. For me it didnt hurt when they did it but it hurt for 3 days after.every month you have to go back to get them tightend and pick a color it may hurt a day after you get them tightend. Braces definetly work ive had then in for 2 years and all my gaps closed and my overbiteis fixed!! i get them off in december or february :-)

  3. I just looked up invisalign and it looks EXACTLY like my retainer!

I heard it takes longer then braces do, and when i take my retainer out, my teeth feel all sensitive.  they're comfortable and don't rip your tongue..  I think invisalign only works if you have minor teeth crookedity though. if that's what you have, then it's probably worth getting these.

braces hurt like heck! especially when they first put them on, when they tighten them and when they take them out. i couldn't eat solids for at least a few days after i got them on. but i hear it differs between people. it  depends on your teeth sensitivity, i guess

besides all that pain and suffering, braces are a sure thing. In a little over a year, i have the almost perfect smile! (all except colour :P )

you won't regret getting braces after then take them off and you have a perfect smile.

  4. Invisalign works for slightly crooked teeth, but not as much for severe crowding, overbites, underbites, etc. Both are about the same as far as pain. When I had braces it never really hurt. When they tighten them it makes your teeth slightly sore for a few days. It is kind of like muscle soreness after a hard workout. If you take an antiinflammatory such as ibuprofen or aleve before and after tightening appointments it helps.

  5. Pressure Pressure Pressure with braces!

I got the first step done which is the spacers, and you will be going nuts with them in your mouth for about 4-5 days.

I now just got an expander today and its cutting my inner mouth. People say in the end its perfect and you'll love your new teeth. I'm beginning to disagree with them.
