I want to get faster with running?

im about to start th 9th grade. and i want to go out for track. i feel that im "regular fast" but i want to be like " danggg she is speedy" you get it? i hear its really hard and the people in it are ***** FAST. lol. and so how can i build u muscles in my legs and just get faster period. and like what can i do at home. like i dont want to have to go to the gym 24/7

  1. gyms are a waste of money if you're a runner.... do A LOT of sprints!


  2. To get stronger do 'negatives.'  Stand on a chair and then lower yourself to the floor on one leg while standing on ball of foot. Only do 7-10 reps a few times a week. Add weight as you get stronger. Also do short top speed sprints to coordinate your strength with speed.

  3. do a lot of sprints..try plymetrics.

  4. You will need to do a lot of sprints around your house or somewhere. You dont have to be at the gym 24/7 but you should do some lifting and specifically work on your abs because that will help you a lot. Finally the other way to get faster is to work on your form. I don't know what event you are planning on running but for most sprints the correct form is a slight forward lean and you have your arms at a 90 degree angle and swing them.
