  1. Don't lift too much because it makes you slower. Join a martial arts school near you and enter some tournaments. As you become better and get more wins your name will get recognized. Talk to your sensei, sifu, etc. and see if he knows any fight organizations. If you win there try out for WEC. It just goes up from there.

  2. take swimming lessons.good for your cardio

check out bas rutten big book of combat and study it

    day in and out.

  3. To cut out all of the excess info...

    1.  Find the best Brazilian Ju Jitsu or Judo School near you.  BJJ is harder to find and typically expensive, but obviously a popular choice for MMA.  A really competitive Judo school would be fine, especially for the first year or two.

    2.  Cross-train in boxing.

    3.  The above really work on Cardio, but you need to run as well.

    4.  Find out what your natural, athletic, weight-class is and get there.  Body builders typically run a little heavy for thir natural weight.  Lean fighting weight is what you need since competition is now mostly weight-class organized.

    5.  Become familiar with taking punishment.  Training in the above arts is really fun, but can be brutal.

  4. stop bodybuilding for starters, lots of muscle does not make you tough. Too much bulk makes you slow.

Best way is to get into an MMA club or something like krav maga, learn the basics and then train hard every day, keep sparring. When your ready, get into the ring. The best way to learn to fight is by well, fighting.

Dont expect to get good fast, it takes years to turn someone into a real fighter.

  5. Run. Build up your stamina and shed excess fat off your body. You have the strength, you just need the cardio. You'll also need to convert those bodybuilding muscles into fighting muscles. You need to accomplish that through training.

You will need to do either boxing/muay thai or BJJ http://www.dojolocator.com/. use that link to find a place to train. If you're lucky enough to have an MMA school in your area you'll be set.

As soon as you think you're ready (train for at least a year and a half, but you could go in sooner if you feel ready) enter an amateur fight. These don't go on your record. See how you do....

  6. Practice, cardio and patience.  Get a good Kru and BJJ instructor and work, work, work.

Enter as many amateur tournaments as you can, be they grappling or Muay Thai and work like heck.  I help a friend work with MMA potentials and let me tell you, it it sweat, blood and sacrifice.

    Sound good, go for it
