As of right now I am a freshman. Im planning on a 4.0 or above gpa which might be possible for me. I am in the varsity tennis team, in the school band, learned mental math, fluent in chinese (writing and speaking), and pretty intelligent for my age. I have also been to a rigorous after school which will help hopefully boost my sat scores. Please tell me your opinion on whether or not I could make a good university.

  1. Getting into college is all about "selling" yourself to whoever reads your admissions application. You should really flaunt your talents (multi-lingual, tennis, band) and get the point across that you are smart, motivated, confident, and overall WELL-ROUNDED.

Also, if you know what you want to study, start looking at which schools are known for their programs in that area and see what their entrance requirements are.

If there is one you are truly set on but you are unsure if you will get in. Try to arrange a visit to the campus AND make an appointment with and admissions counselor. A lot of times, it will help you tremendously if you can make a good impression IN PERSON.

Sometimes even the smallest of things (such as having a professional sounding email address or doing the occasional house-sitting job) can be the difference between you and someone else getting into a competitive school.

Either way, don't be afraid to apply somewhere because of their standards - if you don't apply, you cannot be accepted.

And yes, I think you could get into some fine schools.
