I want to get into biking?

as in those guys who ultimately ride in spandex and have those super thin bikes. don't hate people, i admit i'm a noob but this may be a life changing hobby for me.

Start out by visiting several bike shops during the week(weekends are generally way to busy for you to get a good feel for the place and the service).   Look at the hybrid/fitness bikes as well as road bikes and test ride several before you decide.  Never buy a bike on the first visit.
